South Korea, home to two of world's three largest cell phone manufacturers Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Co., is lifting its brief ban on Apple’s iPad. I have been wondering why the iPad hasn’t been released in Korea when it was released internationally and I guess this explains why. The country’s Communications Commission issued the ban earlier this year because it had not certified the iPad's wireless networking features. This stopped people importing the iPad for personal use, which resulted in many complaints and protests over the internet. This reminds me of Korea’s two-year iPhone ban, which lasted until last November. I wonder if this is Korea’s tactic of preventing iPad imports and using that time to develop the iPad killer…

I wish Samsung would make an ipad killer. Just bought their TV last week and love it so far!
