Do yourself a favor and check out some of the Amazon reviews on Samsung's recently released Galaxy Tab:
Samsung Galaxy Tab (T-Mobile) Reviews
The latest review as of this writing:
"I bought thtis tablet becasue I wanted to get an alternative to the IPad and it's proprietary market. I wanted similar functionality. I also discovered during my research that I liked the 7" size. It's just perfect. I have to say that I use it exactly for what it was intended for and have been very pleased. No buyer's remorse at all. I love this tablet device. I got exactly what I was expecting to get. I had no unrealistic expectations or a handheld supercomputer as it seems others have. Because my expectations were realistic I have not been disappointed. Great job Samsung! A sturdy device with a quick and easy to use interface. I'm so glad I made this purchase. Get this product and you won't be disappointed. More like pleasantly surprised."
How exciting! Finally some real progress here

I'm sure this has been brought up before and I'm sure you're not idiots, but had Apple not released the iPad this year, this site wouldn't even exist. I've been following iPod-killers, iPhone-killers and now iPad-killers for about 10 years and no one has killed anything of Apple's. Maybe, instead of being reactionary, Apple competitors should try to invent or release something that captures the world's imagination BEFORE Apple does, rather than just releasing similar and generally inferior products many months after Apple's done the research and created the category. I love my iPad, I use it everyday. I didn't have to wait 6 months for an "also-ran" and I don't feel like I'm being "held down" by Steve Jobs' vision of the world. In fact, I feel quite a bit more empowered using Apple products knowing that since 1983, every Apple product I've used has been something different and better than what is offered by the rest of the corporate tech world. Quit hating.
There's another great review of the Galaxy Tab here from the worlds largest tech blog Gizmodo.

Hey why is there noting about the Notion Ink's Adam tablet? It is by far the most eligible ipad killer in the market. It has got bluetooth, complete flash support, Autofocus Swivel Camera, PIXEL QI screen (the sexiest thing) and much more. The best thing, its price is between $350 - $499. I am in love with it already....
Fjord: Thanks for your insight. No hating here... If anything we're excited that Apple introduced such a strong product. It has created the very kind of competition that spawns an even better *cough* non-Apple *cough* device
green_papa: Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to be writing up more in-depth reviews of the best ones, plus I plan on creating some sort of table with features so we can all keep track of which tablet has what. As long as I keep that updated, this site will be your one stop shop for the latest ipad killer.
Any other suggestions are welcome!
fjord, Apple is the first in everything, like their awsome word processing application, what do they call that oh yhea, Microsoft Word! And their incredibly fast and efficient processor, what is is again....uh....intel thats it.
Apple is awsome if you only want to communicate with other apples. For the rest of the world, you know those of us who have jobs we will stick with what works.
@Fjord Prefect
Apple consistently steals and then patents all relevant technologies. The reason they get to market "first" is because they buy and/or lock out competitors at the developmental stage before the public ever hears about it. Or they straight steal the technology and dare underdogs to meet them in court. Most walk away with a quiet settlement percentage.
Start ups with technology apple wants are faced with two choices, sell out, or go bankrupt in court, because everyone in the real world knows justice is all about who can pay lawyers the most, the longest. If apple had invented vcr's they'd have patented and buried dvd.
Look up tactical patenting and the EFF. There isn't a single technology in any of apple's flagship products that wasn't stolen/purchased from other companies. My personal favorite is their routine use of open source material in there proprietary software. Did you never ask yourself why jail-breaking is so quickly developed? It's because "apple" software has a Linux base. Not to mention the fact that they want their apps jail-broken so they can use it as an excuse to back out on warranty and support agreements.
http://dvice.com/archives/2010/04/tablets-may-not.php "In 1998, there was a Windows tablet that could multitask" iPad isn't remotely an innovation. Frankly it's not even as cool as a 10 inch PDA. (Which I would still buy.)
They even had the police raid a journalist's home over the iphone 4 leaks, nuff said.
