iPad, YouPad, WePad!

Neofonie, a software company from Berlin, Germany, recently introduced their new tablet product. This company also runs a search engine called WeFind and an epublishing platform called WeMagazine. Can you guess what their tablet is called? WePad. It’s not the most creative name and it sounds like the plural version of iPad, but I guess it goes with their naming convention.

The WePad features an 11.6-inch display (compared to the iPad’s 9.7-inch), a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 graphics, webcam, two USB ports, flash card reader, UMTS modem, and runs a version of the Linux operating system. The price, however, turns quite steep with the 16gig version going for around $600 and the 32gig model going for near $800. Yikes! I think I will continue my search for an iPad killer.
